My name is Angie Lising and I am 43 years old. I am a SoCal girl born and raised in Orange, CA. I have been married for 17 years to Marco and have 3 beautiful kids Isabella, Abbigail, and Gavin. Fitness and healthcare are my passion. I enjoy the outdoors, motorcycles, helping others, and changing lives for the better.
Our dear mother, Luann Kennington has been battling a very rare soft tissue cancer called Leiomyosarcoma (LMS) for the past 5 years. Soft tissue cancers account for less than 1% of all cancers, and LMS accounts for only 5% – 10% of those.
Before we get into all the heavy stuff, we would like to tell you a little about our mom.
On February 8, 2016 our youngest daughter Samantha was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) after a few different symptoms all started to add up. We had taken her to Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and that’s when our lives were turned upside down. We honestly expected them to tell us that she had mono.
I have made a commitment to myself and to my children that nothing will stop me from earning a degree that will ultimately lead me to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I will be in a position to end our cycle of poverty and bring financial stability to our lives.
