Many of you might remember last month when Mindy posted a picture of herself bearing her chest and Stripes (scars) of what cancer looks like. The picture was taken on her last day of radiation and she posted it immediately to her Facebook page so that she could show the world what cancer looks like and to tell her story of faith and positivity. She never imagined that her picture would reach the hundreds of thousands.
Her picture reached both those who were proud of her for taking off her shirt and showing her scars and having that courage and those who were offended that she would post such a graphic or even nude photo of herself. Mindy never allowed those negative comments affect her. In fact the picture was flagged numerous times for nudity, but never had to be taken done. You go Facebook!! We've spent hours reading your comments of praise and gratitude. We appreciate you all and are very grateful for your love and support as we begin this blogging journey.
Thanks to all of you Mindy's dream of sharing her story with others is coming true and she can't wait to continue to show her Stripes and honesty of what cancer is like. I have learned a lot from Mindy, from her story of perseverance, faith, and positivity. She never asked, "why me?," or complained from pain (which I know she probably felt a lot of), she smiled through it all and thanked God with all the energy that she had.
